More than twenty-five years of returning, learning and looking again.
I first came to this coast more than twenty-five years ago. What began as fascination with its landscape and Lycian history gradually became something more personal: friendships, familiar villages, favourite tables, mountain roads and a growing understanding of how different one part of this coastline can feel from another.
Over time I also came to see a problem in the way exceptional villas are usually discovered. Remarkable properties can disappear among thousands of listings. Genuine late openings can pass unnoticed. And the people who know a property best — its owner or manager — are often placed several layers away from the guest.
Turquoise Society grew from the idea that there should be a more considered way.
A smaller collection. Better information. Genuine local context. Selective Private Releases. And, wherever possible, a direct route to the people responsible for the stay.

Time changes what you notice.
Twenty-five years is long enough to learn that Kaş is not Kalkan, that the villages above the coast have their own rhythm, and that a villa can look exceptional in photographs while being entirely wrong for the person considering it.
Then
A first encounter with the coast
More than twenty-five years ago, fascination with the Lycian landscape and history became the beginning of a much longer relationship with this part of Türkiye.
Over time
Familiarity became judgement
Repeated visits, friendships, projects and time spent in the towns and villages revealed how different one part of the coast can feel from another — and how much that matters when choosing where to stay.
Today
Turquoise Society
That accumulated knowledge now informs a curated collection built around strong properties, useful local context, selective availability and direct communication.
